"Circle of Animals"

The Ancients looked to the sky for the origins of life, and for Divination.  They saw the characters of their Gods and stories. in the patterns of the Stars and saw these Constellations, or collections of Stars; and referred to them as Astrological signs.

The Stars were mapped, their cycles and changes were calculated. The Sun was seen as making an eliptic path around the Earth.  The Zodiac is a belt containing the orbits of all the Planets, (accept Pluto); within which the Twelve constellations fell.  It is represented by the "HOUSES" that the Sun passes through on it's Journey of a Year.

The study of Astronomy was a very important science.  It was seen as a way to pinpoint each individuals place in the Universe.  This is done by determining where the Sun was in it's path,  at the precise moment of the individual's Birth.  That determines the persons Birth sign, Sun sign, or Destiny sign. In early times a person's path and station in life were fairly well pre-determined, by their Birth.  Alterations and deviations from the path were looked upon as actions of Destiny. People have always wanted to know Why! certain things happen; to predict the future, or change it.  Especially when we see that some times; very small incidents can change the whole direction of a person's life.

There are Twelve, divisions of the persons life, called "houses" governing a particular aspect of the person's life.  Besides the Astrological Sun Sign: each Planet, was seen to have a certain character or influence and the location of each Planet in a particulat House, at the time of the persons Birth can indicate their degree of influence over that aspect of their life.

This is especially true of the Moon, and Planets that are within the area of the persons Sun Sign, at their Birth. The purpose of constructing "Natal Charts". is to determine he placement of all the factors of influence relative to the individual, and consider the degree of influence of each.

The divisions or catagories of Life governed by the individual Houses:


                            First House:

The Personality, Temperment, Disposition, Health, and Physical Buildand Appearance of the Subject. This house represents the subject as s/he appears to others. It has a bearing on personal manners, and all forms of outward behaviour.

                            Second House:

Possessions, and the Subject's attitude concerning them. One's worldly resources. The sign placed on the cusp may indicate a lucrative source of income for the Subject.

                             Third House:

The Family, siblings, cousins, etc. School life, education, communications, letters and books. Short journeys, vehicles (including automobiles, bicycles, busses, etc.). Speech. The Mind. The Subject as related to their environment. Self expression in daily life.

                             Fourth House:

The Home. The beginning and end of life. This house along with the tenth has a certain bearing on one's parents - their personal status and home life depend on them to some degree. Houses, land and private life.

                             Fifth House:

Creativity, children, pleasures, holidays, enterprises and new beginnings, speculation, gambling, sports, love affairs, and objects of instinctive affection (pets, playmates, and sweethearts). If a planet is seriously afflicted, loose behaviour and self-indulgence can easily occur.

                            Sixth House:

Work, subordinates, servants; Health, although physical well being cannot be entirely assessed from it.

                             Seventh House:

Relationships, both personal and business in nature. The sign on the cusp of this house often indicates a good marraige partner (it may be stressed in their chart).

                             Eighth House:

Money inherited. Shared feelings. Life force elements of sex, birth,
death, and attitudes towards death and the afterlife. Big business.
The Stock Exchange, Insurance companies, etc. Crime.

                             Ninth House:

Higher Education, study in depth of profound subjects, mental exploration, long-distance travel, foreigners, languages, moral ideals, conscience and dreams.


                                    Tenth House:

All matters outside the home, aspirations, ambitions, public standing. Personal occuapation/career, and atainment within it.  Social status and responsibilities, a sense of discipline, and matters affecting outward appearance and the Subject's personal image.

                             Eleventh House:

Public pleasures, friends aquaintances, clubs and societies, objectives in life, and the more detached contacts made in day to day affairs. Intellectual pleasures, as opposed to the more physical or sporting forms of relaxation.

                             Twelfth House:

Need for seclusion, service to others, self sacrifice, often as a result of a partner's illness. Escapism, the unconscious. The presence of many planets in this house is an indication of negative escapism. (including susceptibility to Drugs).



                             The MidHeaven (Medium Coelis, or M.C.)

The Outward expression of one's individuality, and the Ego, are both strongly affected by the MidHeaven. The MidHeaven is especially  important in career matters.

                     (Note: The MC and the Tenth House should not be confused.
                              The Characteristics of both may be in alignment, but they do
                              not always coincide.).

Moon/Saturn mid-point:

interfunctional relationship of identification/adaptation released in most operative and concrete manner.  Inverse:  internalization and spiritual release of forces of identification/adaption


Point of Associative Participation
Mercury/Jupiter:

Externalization of individual powers of creative and associative participation within social sphere.
Inverse: individuals manner of giving personal meaning to their social participation their ability to captivate the imaginations of others.


Point of Sex
Venus/Mars mid-point:

The point where duality is externalized and operates within the individual personality. Sensitivity to people and situations, a person's manner of approaching a situation.
Inverse:  manner of interpersonal relations and how ones own sexuality is manifested


Point of Creativity
Jupiter/Saturn:

The world within/ world without of a person. The uniqueness of the individual. The specific point of view. How the creative process gives meaning to individual expression. The interplay between the macrocosm and the microcosm. The responsibility for individual consciousness. The type of experiences a person has.
Inverse:  source of inspiration which gives personal and spiritual meaning to the creative process.

Mars/Uranus mid-point:

This point forces the most intense and focus toward external change.
Inverse:  The point most directed toward internal change.


Point of Reorientation
Jupiter/Neptune mid-point:

Manner of reorientation operative in a person's life, the point of external release.
Inverse:  The point of release for internal/spiritual reorientation.


Point of Self-Refocalization
Saturn/Pluto mid-point:

The point of the most operative concrete refocus of energies and consciousness in a person's life.
Inverse:   the awareness of the process of refocalization in ones consciousness.
